UP Electrical Engineering Presents Communications Systems Research at ITC-CSCC 2026

School of Engineering University of Phayao, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakarn Suangun and Dr. Buntueng Yana, lecturers in the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering, led a team of students in participating in and presenting research papers at the 41st International Technical Conference on Circuits/Systems, Computers and Communications (ITC-CSCC 2026). The conference was held from 7 to 10 July 2026 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference was jointly organised by the Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology Association of Thailand (ECTI Association), the Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers (IEIE) of the Republic of Korea, and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) of Japan. It served as a prominent international platform for researchers, academics, engineers, and students from various countries to exchange knowledge and present research findings and innovations in circuits and systems, computer engineering, information technology, communications, and related fields.

At the conference, faculty members and students from the Electrical Engineering Program presented six research papers:

  • Feature-Level Fusion of CNN Backbones for Multi-Class Weed Classification
  • CBAM-Guided Feature Fusion for Robust Soybean Leaf Disease Classification
  • Wideband EBG-Backed Monopole Antenna with Modified Ground Plane
  • Cost-Effective Lens-Loaded Corrugated FR-4 Vivaldi Antenna for 1.7–30 GHz Solar Observation
  • Fractional Bandwidth Enhancement and Miniaturization of Hybrid MWCNT/Cu Antennas
  • Small Cell Base Station Antenna with Frequency Selective Surface for 5G Mobile Communication

Participation in this international academic conference provided a valuable opportunity to disseminate the University’s research to the global academic community and enabled students to gain practical experience in presenting scholarly work. It also facilitated the exchange of knowledge and the establishment of collaborative networks with researchers and educational institutions from other countries, thereby creating opportunities for future research advancement and the development of engineering innovations.
