University of Phayao

On 7 May 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thantip Kruehayothin, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts (BCA), welcomed Asst. Prof. Dr. Santiwat Pitakkhol, Director of the Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer (UPITI), to the School’s meeting room at the University of Phayao for a discussion on expanding institutional collaboration in innovation management, technology transfer, and strategic academic development.

The meeting focused on collaborative opportunities for projects operated by the School, including initiatives managed through its Special Enterprise Unit. Both parties explored ways to transform academic expertise into practical innovation, entrepreneurial ventures, and commercially impactful projects while strengthening partnerships with industry and external organizations.

The discussion also addressed the concept of a Holding Company model as a potential mechanism to support investment in innovation, business development, and sustainable growth within the University ecosystem. The model is expected to enhance the University’s long-term competitiveness and create greater flexibility in managing innovation-driven initiatives.

In addition, BCA proposed future collaboration in establishing an AI Center to support teaching, research, and innovation in AI and digital technologies. The initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of both students and staff, preparing them for the rapidly evolving digital landscape and the future of higher education.

The meeting reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to advancing interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering innovation, and positioning the University of Phayao as a forward-looking institution focused on global engagement and sustainable development.
