On Tuesday, 3 February 2026, Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, together with the university’s executive team, participated in a meeting to discuss academic collaboration with the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT). The meeting aimed to advance joint initiatives under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on academic cooperation previously signed by both institutions. The discussion was held at the Ursa Major Conference Room, Sirindhorn Observatory Park, Chiang Mai Province.
The meeting focused on jointly defining concrete directions for collaboration to enhance teaching and learning, prepare and strengthen human capital with future-ready competencies and skills, and foster research and innovation in astronomy and technology with practical applications. These efforts are intended to support sustainable development in economic, social, and community dimensions, while reinforcing the university’s role in providing academic services to society and integrating scientific knowledge with the preservation of arts and culture.
This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the academic collaboration network between the University of Phayao and NARIT, leading to the development of high-quality human resources, impactful research, and innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society.
