On Friday, October 24, 2025, a team from the School of Science, University of Phayao, presented the progress of the research project “Community Model Development Project for Greenhouse Gas Reduction with Science and Technology” to the project monitoring and evaluation committee. The presentation took place at a local farmer's house (20, Moo 11) in Mae Na Ruea Sub-district, Mueang District, Phayao Province.
This research project is a vital part of the sustainable development framework under the Reinventing University Project of the University of Phayao.
The event was honored by the welcoming address of Associate Professor Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul , Dean of the School of Science. Ms. Tassanan Jaibun, Chief Executive of the Mae Na Ruea Sub-district Administrative Organization (OrBorTor), and her team, expressed their gratitude to the University and the School of Science, and provided valuable suggestions to further align the activities with the local context.
Assistant Professor Dr. Reungruthai Sirirak, Project Head, and Dr. Patcharin Tangchaisuriya, Researcher, presented an in-depth look at the project's progress and results achieved within the community. Furthermore, Dr. Niyom Hongsit demonstrated and lectured on the construction of the "Circular Tower" (eco-friendly wet waste bin), a simple innovation that concretely helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The monitoring and evaluation committee members included: Ms. Benjamas Teeramasvanit, Associate Professor Dr. Acharaporn Duangjai, Dr. Warat Mathayomburut, Assistant Professor Dr. Komsak Pintha, and Associate Professor Dr. Chatmongkon Suwannapoom.
This presentation underscores the School of Science's commitment to utilizing its scientific and technological expertise to create innovations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and substantially support sustainable development in the community.
