On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Japanese Program, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao organized a workshop titled “Japanese Major Skill Development Training for Students of All Academic Years”, held at the Central Education Building (CE).
The initiative aimed to enhance students' Japanese language proficiency in alignment with the program’s intended learning outcomes. It also sought to motivate students to set clearer academic goals and to self-assess their language abilities through practical training in vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening skills.
Participants were divided into three groups based on their proficiency levels, corresponding to the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) standards. The sessions were led by experienced school members from the Japanese Program:
JLPT N2-level group, instructed by Mr. Toshiaki Kanaya
JLPT N3-level group, instructed by Dr. Isao Yamaki
JLPT N4–5-level group, instructed by Mr. Preecha Jaihan
The workshop provided an engaging platform for students to further their academic development and linguistic confidence in Japanese studies.
