On April 17th, 2025, the University of Phayao took part in the traditional Songkran water pouring ceremony to show respect and seek blessings from the Governor of Phayao Province as part of the Thai New Year celebration. Representing the University's President, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, Assistant Professor Suwit Panyawong, Vice President for Environmental and Landscape, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Namngern Chantaramanee, Director of the Institute for Learning Innovation, and other university staff, participated in the ceremony.
They paid respect to Mr. Rattapol Naradisorn, Governor of Phayao Province, Mr. Bamrung Sangkhaw, Deputy Governor of Phayao, and Mr. Phuthana Chomphuming, at the governor's official resident. The event was held to promote good fortune and preserve cultural heritage during the Thai New Year, also known as Pi Mai Mueang, in 2025. The ceremony was attended by government officers, military and police personnel, state enterprise employees, the private sector, and local citizens of Phayao Province.
