On Friday, 21 November 2025, the University of Phayao, through the Lanna Art and Culture Center, organized a merit-making almsgiving ceremony in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The event was held at the King Naresuan the Great Monument Court and continues to be one of the University’s long-standing cultural and spiritual traditions.
Three main Schools served as ceremony co-hosts:
- School of Political and Social Sciences
- School of Nursing
- School of Medicine
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Wuttichai Chairinrum, Vice President for Student Quality. University executives, deans, assistant presidents, division heads, staff, students, alumni, and local community members joined together in offering dry food to eight monks from Wisuddhimagga Meditation Center and Ban So Temple, expressing deep gratitude and remembrance for the royal benevolence.
Representing the School of Political and Social Sciences were:

- Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayanun Maneewan, Deputy Dean for Administration and Academic Innovations
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Wannapa Thongdaeng, Deputy Dean for Strategy and Innovation
- Dr. Rakkiet Intabtun, Deputy Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations
More than 60 staff members and students took part in this devotional activity. The ceremony, held every Friday (including 31 October and 7, 14, 21 November 2025), concluded peacefully and reverently, fostering unity and spiritual enrichment among participants.
