NUSA DUA, BALI, INDONESIA -- October 10, 2025 -- The University of Phayao and Bali Tourism Polytechnic officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a historic milestone in international academic collaboration between Thailand and Indonesia.
The signing ceremony took place at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic campus in Nusa Dua, Bali, bringing together distinguished academic leaders from both institutions to formalize their commitment to educational excellence and cross-cultural exchange.
The University of Phayao delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpo, President of the University of Phayao, and included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanintra Teeranon, Assistant to the President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Prakobsiri Pakdeepinit, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts, Dr. Satit Chuayounan, Vice Dean for Administration, Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin, Vice Dean for Corporate Relations and Global Engagement, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Bungon Sawatsuk, Lecturer in the Accounting Program at the School of Business and Communication Arts.
The Bali Tourism Polytechnic was represented by Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, S.T., M.Kes., Director, along with key members of the institution's leadership team.
This marks the third renewal of the MOU between the two institutions, with each agreement spanning five years. The partnership focuses on two strategic areas of cooperation. The student exchange internship program will provide students with practical work experience at partner organizations in both Thailand and Indonesia, with the host university taking full responsibility for internship supervision and guidance. This arrangement allows students to gain hands-on professional experience while developing cultural understanding in an international setting. Both institutions will also jointly organize international academic conferences, creating platforms for researchers and students to present their work and engage with the global academic community.
Following the signing ceremony, the University of Phayao delegation toured the Bali Tourism Polytechnic campus facilities. The tour included visits to the culinary arts program, which trains students in Indonesian and international cuisine preparation and restaurant management, the hotel management program covering front office operations, housekeeping, and guest services, and the hospitality accounting management program that teaches financial management specific to the tourism and hospitality industry. This partnership represents a significant commitment by both institutions to advancing higher education in the ASEAN region and preparing students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
