Engineering UP Join Who Must Upskill-Reskill
to Connect with the Global Economy 2025 Seminar
    

The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, represented by Asst. Prof. Khomkit Meksakul and Lecturer Anothai Klakankhai, faculty members of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Industrial Engineering, participated in the workshop seminar “Who Must Upskill-Reskill to Connect with the Global Economy 2025” The seminar was held from August 28–29, 2025, at the International Institute for Skill Development, Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Charin Thongsuk, Governor of Chiang Rai Province. The seminar aimed to enhance understanding of global economic trends, introduce strategies for developing skills aligned with the demands of the digital labor market, foster international collaboration, and support sustainable workforce planning and organizational strategies.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in insightful lectures and discussions on key topics such as technological change and essential skills, Chiang Saen’s strategic role in the Greater Mekong Subregion, labor skill trends and adaptation in the ASEAN labor market, and a panel discussion on skill development for Thai workers in the GMS context and ASEAN integration.

In addition, hands-on workshops were organized to provide participants with practical training and opportunities for knowledge exchange, enabling them to adapt and develop skills effectively in line with the evolving needs of the global economy.
