at Strengthening Alumni Connections Event

School of Engineering, University of Phayao, successfully hosted the “Strengthening Alumni Connections in Engineering” project on 22–23 August 2025 at Vishnukarma Courtyard. The opening ceremony was graciously presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, with a welcome address delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, outlining the objectives of the program.

The two-day event featured a diverse range of cultural, academic, and professional activities. Highlights included the Vishnukarma Worship Ceremony and Bai Sri Su Kwan Ceremony, as well as the presentation of Outstanding Personnel Awards, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Certificates of Academic Excellence Scholarships, and Financial Aid Scholarships. The program also featured specialized workshops on Prota Structure and Net Zero, designed to enhance professional competencies in engineering.

In addition, the Engineering Alumni Association contributed to the event through a series of engaging activities such as alumni reflection sessions, storytelling from senior alumni, and the annual alumni meeting, all of which provided opportunities to strengthen relationships among alumni, current students, and School members, while building sustainable collaborative networks for the continued advancement of the School.

This initiative not only aimed to preserve the School’s unique tradition of the Vishnukarma Worship Ceremony—honoring Vishnukarma, the deity of craftsmanship and construction, who serves as a source of inspiration for engineering creativity—but also marked a significant part of the 16th Anniversary celebrations of the University of Phayao.

Furthermore, the project is aligned with the University of Phayao’s strategic direction in promoting cultural heritage and national identity. It also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, by fostering collaborative partnerships that contribute to sustainable development on both national and global scales.
