On January 9, 2024, the School of Energy and Environment – SEEN, University of Phayao – UP, organized a New Year merit-making activity and a ceremony to uphold traditional customs and culture according to the beliefs of the Lanna region. The purpose was to renew and purify one's life by removing negativity, as well as to inspire and encourage participants. The event was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Torpong Kreetachat, the dean, along with SEEN members, staff, and students, with over a hundred of people.
After the ceremony, the student activities included providing scholarship funds to deserving students and a lucky draw for New Year gifts supported by the SEEN's administrators, members, and staff for the participating students. The going on was filled with joy, enthusiasm, and authenticity.
